If your child experiences difficulties with learning,
for whatever reason, we offer the following solutions
to help bring about change:
Many children experience “gaps in the foundation". That is, they are missing some underlying skills they need in order to learn efficiently.
Trying to build academic skills on top of these gaps results in learning problems.
The good news is that at any age weaknesses in foundation skills can be remediated!
With young children who are at risk of developing learning difficulties it is important to help them avoid gaps in their foundation skills.
We use specific materials that help your child improve Executive Function Skills, such as Focus, Planning, Time Management and Shifting Attention, and Critical Thinking Skills.
Being able to read fluently and comprehend what was read, is one of the main pillars of success in school!
We use the Lexercise Program,
an on-line reading and writing
Therapy program based on the
Orton-Gillingham approach.
We use a hands-on, metacognitive approach to math intervention, based on "Singapore Math", to help your child develop an understanding of numbers.
Through this approach your child will gain an understanding of math facts, rather than accumulate unconnected pieces of number information. This works especially well with children who have problems with math, or are at risk to develop math deficiencies.
If your child struggles with writing numbers and letters his or her math, spelling, and written expression all suffer.
This is because the struggle to form letters and numbers takes away brain energy that is needed for learning.
We utilize the Handwriting Without Tears program, which is a fun and effective way to get your youngster on track.

The Parent Courses are designed for home-schooling parents, and for parents who are very involved in helping their child with school work.
The courses discuss the underlying cognitive skills that are needed in order to help the child become a capable learner.
Specific techniques will be shown to help your students acquire insights into their own thinking processes (metacognition) and develop self-regulation and critical thinking skills.
Teenage Groups: Critical Thinking
These groups are designed to help kids learn how to evaluate information. They are constantly exposed to social media, news, TV and internet and it is important for them to learn to recognize what is valid information and what is not!
Courses and groups are offered at different times during the year. Please leave your contact information if you would like to be notified of the dates.

"Our son Frankie was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and severe Learning Disabilities. Dr. Taddeo worked with Frankie over the course of a year to improve his problem solving, reading and math skills. Frankie made excellent progress with Dr. Taddeo's approach and enjoyed his work with her. I highly recommend her work to anyone looking to improve their child's ability to think and function.
